It's not your fault you feel this way and, with a little help, it's in your power to change and move forward. Taking the next step can be overwhelming. I can help you re-center and re-connect.

Why I do what I do

I know firsthand the influence stress and trauma can have on one's life, impacting trust, self-esteem, relationships, feelings of safety, and sense of calm. When we feel disconnected from ourselves, our bodies, and our communities, it's as if things are happening to us in our lives. We lose agency, presence, and purpose. These difficult experiences, along with our family and cultural systems, impact the way we see the world, feel about ourselves, and interact with others.

We all deserve to live our most wholehearted and full lives, a chance at liberation from circumstances, societal expectations, and past experiences that have held us back. While trauma steals your peace, addressing the disorientation caused by stress & trauma empowers you to reclaim your peace and re-align with your purpose and goals.

Why Visionary Psychotherapy

Folks often come to therapy because they feel stuck and can't see the way forward. I chose to name my practice Visionary Psychotherapy after the tradition of visionary fiction writers, who, even amidst overwhelming destruction and unprecedented circumstances, create beautiful worlds outside the bounds of what was first thought possible.

Maybe you’re having trouble seeing past today to visualize the future. Maybe you know where you want to go but don’t know how to get there. Together, we can build windows where there’s no door. While we can’t change the past, you can take back agency and find your unique way forward.

A little bit about me

I grew up in GA and moved to CA to study Clinical Psychology and Social Justice. I landed in Nashville, TN after moving to the area for my post-doctoral training. I’m passionate about engaging in local activism and community building. I enjoy practicing yoga, reading, gardening, and hiking with my pup.

The decolonization of the imagination is the most dangerous and subversive form there is: for it is where all other forms of decolonization are born. Once the imagination is unshackled, liberation is limitless.”
